Welcome to my health and wellness hub! As a fully Certified Integrative Health Coach trained at Duke, I'm committed to helping you achieve your health and wellness goals.
My approach focuses on nurturing personal growth by addressing challenges across mind, body, and spirit. Despite the wealth of information and medical resources available, maintaining our health can still be challenging.
Between family responsibilities, work demands, and the obstacles we encounter daily, it's easy to lose sight of our path to well-being. Whether we're caregivers, parents, or professionals, we often find ourselves consumed by life's demands, neglecting our own well-being in the process. I have experienced this myself.
Balancing a demanding job with caring for my family, I neglected my own well-being until I reached a breaking point. It was only when I found myself out of breath while simply walking to the mailbox and feeling overwhelmed by stress both at work and at home that I realized something needed to change. Then, I remembered the safety instructions provided on airplanes, which advise "putting on your own oxygen mask before assisting others". So I came to understand that to effectively care for others, I first needed to prioritize my own health and strength. This realization marked a turning point for me.
I started incorporating activities such as running, attending the gym classes, and making time to socialize and forge new friendships. And the best outcome in all of this it that these changes inspired everyone in my family as well.
The journey to better health wasn’t easy, but it taught me the importance of readiness, desire, and commitment.
I also discovered that accountability was key to staying on track.
Self-care isn't selfish; it's an act of kindness to yourself. By prioritizing your own health and well-being, you gain the strength and power to help those you love and fulfill your purpose. Self-care provides the resilience needed to navigate your life path, overcome burnout, and stay healthy.
After experiencing my own transformation, I felt compelled to help others achieve their health goals through coaching and mentoring.
I strongly believe that making lasting changes is within reach for everyone. As a scientist with a background in cell physiology and neurobiology, I have seen the evidence firsthand: our brains have incredible plasticity, allowing us to rewire our neural pathways and sustain changes over time. This realization inspired me to dive into Integrative Health. I wanted to bridge the gap between scientific knowledge and practical strategies, empowering individuals to make choices that positively impact both their physical and mental well-being.
